Environmental Impact Of Mining
Environmental impacts of mining can occur at local, regional, and global scales through direct and indirect mining practices. Impacts can result in erosion, sinkholes, loss of biodiversity, or the contamination of soil, groundwater, and surface water by the chemicals emitted from mining processes. These processes also have an impact on the atmosphere from the emissions of carbon which have effect on the quality of human health and biodiversity. Some mining methods may have such significant environmental and public health effects that mining companies in some countries are required to follow strict environmental and rehabilitation codes to ensure that the mined area returns to its original state.

U.S. Gold Corp Vice President of Exploration and Technical Services Kevin Francis joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide insights into the company's progress and the favorable regulatory environment in Wyoming for mining operations.
Francis highlighted Wyoming's rich history of mineral extraction, which has significantly contributed to state revenue. Notable resources in the state include the world's largest trona deposit and high-quality coal for power generation. Wyoming's experienced regulators, particularly in mining permits, provide a significant advantage for companies like U.S. Gold Corp.
Under the leadership of CEO George Bee, U.S. Gold Corp has made significant advancements in its project over the past three years. The project, focused on gold and copper extraction, has progressed from a preliminary economic assessment through pre-feasibility studies and advanced permitting. The anticipated production is over 100,000 ounces of gold and 20 million pounds of copper annually over a 10-year mine life.
An important aspect of the project's uniqueness is its location on private and state lands, which minimizes federal involvement. Engagement with federal agencies such as the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the US Army Corps of Engineers has been successfully navigated, ensuring compliance with necessary regulations.
Primary permitting activities are currently with the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. The mine operating permit, submitted in September 2021, has undergone technical reviews, with the public comment period ongoing. Approval is expected in the first half of the year. Additionally, progress is being made on water discharge and air quality permits, with the industrial siting permit already secured unanimously a year ago.
The state-level involvement in permitting is anticipated to expedite the process, offering a clear and efficient pathway toward operational commencement for U.S. Gold Corp.
